Public Service Loan Forgiveness
Student Loan Consolidation and Student loan forgiveness

Under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, those who are full-time employees (30+ hrs. per week) in the nonprofit sector, public education, the Peace Corps and certain government positions, may be eligible for PSLF (remaining balance) after 120 payments.

Only Direct Loans are eligible for PSLF. If you borrowed before July 1, 2010, some or all of your loans may have been made under an older federal student loan program called the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program . Read more below about actions you can take to make your FFEL Program loans eligible for PSLF.
